Medium: watercolor This piece returns to the main story of my concentration after I took a break for a little while to study and practice real anatomy, which I incorporated more into this piece than my previous ones, as this one is my best effort so far. It shows my main character after the events of piece 6 and 7, shocked and unsure after he's cut free of his chains. The composition of this piece is intentionally reminiscent of #6, as it is split into two panels to indicate that the top scene happens first and the bottom one shows him riding the creature after he is freed. I am submitting this piece as one of my quality works and as such even though it's watercolor I am trying to go for the much detail and accurate anatomy as I can, which I think was successful. This piece shows freedom, and the character's shock and disbelief that there is something that cares for him after years of isolation have worn away his hope that he is cared for.

Medium- acrylic This piece is a quick departure from my story to study the anatomy of the animals that my creatures are based on. I used a horse for this one because it has a very similar facial structure as my dragon. I used many reference images of horses to sketch out the ones at the top of the page and used the anatomy and bone structure that I had found to paint the dragon more realistically. I used black and white to draw attention to the anatomical structure and make it more clear to the viewer. This painting doesn't have as much significance as the other ones in my story so far, but it is part of my investigation as I use real anatomy to exaggerate and create my ideas and creatures.
